R.U.F.F. 1st annual Madison Kite Festival was a HUGE success. Roughly 5,000 people attended the event held at James Clemens High School.
A message from MCS School Board:
"I want to congratulate you on the outstanding event you organized and to tell you how much I enjoyed the Kite Festival on Saturday. The event was well planned and executed – you had an amazing collection of activities, food vendors and service providers. It was truly a “Mini Madison Street Festival” with something for folks of all ages. More important, you modeled a great service event which gave back to the community. The RUFF program and its students should be very proud. Please pass on my thanks and congratulations to all involved. Keep up the great work." - David Hergenroer, MCS
School Board Member.
Ready yourself For the future is an organization that focuses on empowering young men to become outstanding leaders in their community. This is the motto of the organization and most importantly the goal. R.U.F.F. is an important aspect in the lives of over 100 young men in Madison County, Alabama. As an organization, R.U.F.F. strives to promote leadership, morals, values, structure, and good character to young men from age 9-18.
Ready yourself For the Future has come up with a 4 year character education plan for young men 9 - 18 years. It starts with DEVELOP, where young men build their character core. Next, the young men move into INSPIRE, where they learn the importance of helping others. Third, they move into EMPOWER, where they are given opportunities to be an outstanding leader. Lastly, they finish with LEADER, where they demonstrate all the skills they have learned in the program and to be a proven leader.
